Last night I filmed my unedited workflow with OpenAI's newest model: GPT 5.1 Codex Max. Codex just changed my entire Swift workflow.
My app is a mix of SwiftUI, AppKit, and Swift. I'm targeting macOS 15+ and Swift 6.2 using AVFoundation and Core ML. The new OpenAI coding model is incredibly fast and way more efficient on tool calls (reading files, editing, coding, etc). If you have ideas for apps and want to get started, now is the time to start playing with codex and ChatGPT. I have been a ChatGPT Pro plan subscriber all year ($200/month), and it is amazing. Access to ChatGPT 5.1 Pro is a new level of intelligence that you cannot get anywhere else. You can just do things. Having a coding partner allows me to try things that would have been impossible before (with a family, kids, exercise, work, and sleep). It feels like I have an excellent pair programmer who can help execute on all my ideas. ChatGPT Pro is worth $200/month for me because I get the time back. If you’re curious, you can start with the $20/month Plus tier just to see if it helps your workflow. You won't regret it! Want to work with other like minded people? I'm going to launch an App Launch Community in January 2026. Signup if you want to work with me and other developers who want to finally publish apps for themselves (or to build a business that generates side income). Hit reply and tell me about your app idea. I read every email. Talk soon! Paul Solt P.S. I'm building a new studio office. Check out my new space and the insane sound isolation. It feels like a different world in that room. |

Hey Reader, This week is exciting. GPT-5.3-Codex launched today, so I put together a short video covering the five key updates (and a demo of what it can do). I didn't want to go back to GPT-5.2, after I got early access to GPT-5.3-Codex last week. The 5.3 model is faster and smarter. I can do more in less time. Watch here: GPT-5.3-Codex Launches Today — 5 Things You Need to Know The new Codex App + Plan mode + GPT-5.3-Codex helped make this video possible. Try it out and let me know what you...
Hey Reader, I had early access to Codex app this past week. The OpenAI team is moving insanely fast with Codex CLI, and watching this new app unfold was incredible. Take a look, and see for yourself. Download link in the video. Codex app feels like the missing IDE layer for the Codex CLI.One-click to open Xcode, run iOS/macOS apps, review diffs, and manage agents. I have mine configured using Makefiles (More on my setup in another email). Talk soon, Paul SoltPaul@SuperEasyApps.com P.S. Codex...
Hey Reader, AI agents struggle with iOS development for a simple reason: they can’t actually run Xcode. In this video, I have an impromptu conversation with Cameron Cooke from the UK about XcodeBuildMCP, a tool that finally lets AI build and run iOS apps in the Simulator. We talk through the backstory, the real problems it solves, and why this changes how AI agents work with iOS and macOS apps. If AI + Xcode is Broken for you, then you might need this tool.
